Your First Visit Minimize
Warm greetings to you,

Welcome to St. Peter's By The Sea Presbyterian Church. Our purpose is to make a difference in the world as we follow Jesus Christ. We hope you'll spend a few minutes exploring this site to get a glimpse of the many opportunities to worship, grow and serve at St. Peter's.

Of course the most satisfying way to experience St. Peter's is in person. We invite you to worship with us this weekend. If you have any questions, please call us at (310) 377-6882. Our office hours are 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday and 8:00 AM - Noon on Sundays.

When you attend worship services, please stop by the Information table on the patio for a complete offering of brochures and publications about all of the ministries and opportunities that await you at St. Peter's.

Where to Park
When you enter the parking lot, the Sanctuary is the first building on your left. There is parking available on all sides of the church. Parking spots marked "Guest" are set aside for our newest visitors. If the lot is full, park along the side streets in the adjoining neighborhood to the east of our church campus.
Church School
Children of all ages are always welcome and encouraged to join in our worship services. Let them wiggle! We enjoy their giggles! Partway through the worship service, the children will be invited to gather at the front of the sanctuary for a special children's sermon. They'll sit on the steps during the interactive sermon. Children are then led to their age-appropriate classrooms for Church School classes.   read more...
Greeters
Standing by the doors to the Sanctuary, you’ll find greeters ready to usher you in to worship or direct you to other parts of the campus. The greeters will offer you a program. The ivory or yellow sheet is the Order of Worship and will guide you through the service. The blue sheet is the Weekend Update which lists upcoming events and announcements.
Nursery/Toddler Care Center
If you have infants and toddlers, our Nursery/Toddler Care Center is staffed with loving responsible adults aided by volunteers. We’re committed to providing a safe, nurturing place for infants and toddlers to receive care while their parents attend worship and classes.   read more...
Where to Sit
Feel free to sit upstairs or downstairs. You’ll find name tags, reading material, Bibles and hymnals located in the pew racks in front of you. St. Peter’s encourages everyone to wear a name tag so that we may all greet one another by name. Sometime during the service, a friendship book will be passed up and down the pew. Please spend a moment to fill in all of the information.
The Passing of "The Peace"
When the pastor calls for the passing of “The Peace,” everyone in the congregations spends a moment greetings those around them. Typical greeting include: “Peace”, “Peace be with you” or Christ’s Peace."
Communion Celebration
St. Peter’s celebrates Communion in several ways. If you are attending church on the first weekend of a month or a special service, Communion will be served. Everyone is welcome at the Lord’s Table.
Coffee Hour on the Patio
After the service, the pastor stands by the center doors of the Sanctuary to exchange greetings and handshakes. We invite you to introduce yourself to the Pastor and mention that you are a newcomer. He or she will be happy to direct you to the Information Table, the refreshments or to a friendly church member who can answer any questions you might have about St. Peter’s.

After services, the patio is abuzz with fellowship and activity. Tables are scattered about, some offering coffee and lemonade and others offering information about current and upcoming activities. There’s an information table near the center of the patio. Please pick up any literature that interests you.

We hope that after you visit St. Peter’s you’ll feel welcome to return soon.
